Set for the future
On the 26th August 2010, as planned, the second of the Partnership’s smaller format shops was opened in Croydon, much to the delight of waiting customers. People had been queuing in the 165 space car-park a whole hour before, such were levels of excitement and anticipation in the area.
The new Croydon branch was championing a multi-channel system. Although only 12,500 lines were physically available in the shop, customers could still browse and buy from a wider selection, thanks to in-store online shopping points located around the store. The click-and-collect feature was also a hit with customers; over 140 collections were made in the first three days. With such resources available to customers and both staff, the Croydon was excellently equipped to maintain the high standards it had reached on its opening day of trading.
