  • Following the publication of my brief pictorial history of Waitrose Transport in Vintage Roadscene Magazine (issue 159, February 2013), which also included some department store vehicles, a reader has written in to suggest that this vehicle is either a Cyklonette or a Phanomobil of German manufacture.

  • The driver of the van is thought to be Mr W G Shaw who was the father in law of Mr R Gollings of the Furniture Department.
