The Grand Opening of John Lewis At Home, Chichester
Immediate Success
On the 5th April 2012, John Lewis at home Chichester opened its doors to customers. The Partnership had been waiting for years to build a store in Sussex, and it was immediately apparent that customers had been hoping and waiting for a long time too. The branch beat their budget by an astounding 85 per cent on the first day of trading, thus setting the precedent very early on.
Since Opening
Since then, the store has experienced marked success, although in January 2014, it fell victim to the extensive flooding in the area. The store had to be evacuated, and some small scale damage was experienced. Fortunately the shop was able to get through this tough time, with a little help from its nearby older brothers in Portsmouth and Southampton.
