Coming to Sussex, John Lewis At Home

Building on success

At the end of September 2011, it was announced that a ‘John Lewis at home’ was to be built in Chichester. The shop, to be based in a retail park just off the A27, was part of the second wave of ‘at home’ stores to built, testament to the wondrous success that the first store’s had achieved. With store’s in Chester and Tamworth with an imminent opening date, it was clear that the Partnership was not going to let its finger off the pulse. The target of 10 home shops by the end of 2012 was looking well in reach. In an £8 million investment, the shop would have 40,000 feet of selling space, split over 2 floors. It would focus on furniture, furnishing accessories, electrical goods and home technology. The shop would also have a customer cafe and a ‘Click and Collect’ service.
