As part of their response to the COVID-19, in April 2020 John Lewis donated 20,000m of fabric to groups For The Love Of Scrubs and to Scrubs Glorious Scrubs. These groups, through their community initiatives and groups of volunteers will be able to use the fabric to create 6000 sets of scrubs for health workers on the front line.
In an interview for The Gazette, the Partnership’s in house publication, Sarah Bull, Customer Experience Manager, John Lewis commented “Fabric is part of our John Lewis heritage and we know there are many partners sewing at home already. Donating 20,000m of John Lewis fabric to nationwide volunteer sewing groups to make into essential hospital scrubs is part of our ongoing support for the NHS. It has been amazing to see the impact on our communities and the way Partners have worked together to make this happen from Buying to Magna Park and the local CHD network – I’m so proud to be a Partner!”
