The End of an Era - Robert Sayle closes for the last time ready for the new John Lewis Cambridge to open.
Part of the frontage of RS2 Burleigh Street
On Tuesday 6th November 2007, Robert Sayle had it’s doors closed and locked for the final time, by Tony Butrym, a Business Protection Officer, ready to open on the 8th November, back in the centre of town under the new name of John Lewis Cambridge.
The Burleigh Street shop had once belonged to the Co-operative Society and the two Co-op stone panels were displayed on the front of the RS2 building; linking it with it’s past life.
