  • This picture also brought back memories to Mrs Florence Dwyer. She worked in Trewins during the early thirties as a young girl. She came to Watford in 1933 and lived-in at┬áthe shop. She remembers the Housekeeper who was a Miss Orchard and the Manager was Mr Davis who also┬álived there with his family.

  • Having a good look at the buildings behind the ladies, I think they have just been to Cawdells in their break. This rival department store is on the right hand side of the picture.

  • The John Lewis house magazine “The Gazette” published this picture in June 1972. It was given by Mrs P Moore who worked in the Haberdashery Department in Trewins. She is the lady in the centre of the picture with two of her friends taking a lunchtime stroll in Watford.
