The Partnership agreed to release the Kinghams building along with the Cottages allowing the developers to start work which would bring forward significantly the completion of the whole centre.  This enabled work to start on the spiral ramp which connects the Charter Place car park to additional spaces in the shopping centre, adding 2,100 extra car parking spaces earlier than anticipated.

The Chronicle Office, House Stationery, Kitchen Planning Office, Soft Furnishing Workroom, Staff Training, Central Clerical, Ticket Office and Stockrooms of several departments in these buildings were relocated into the Russells building and portacabins which were supplied to us by the developers (and can be seen in the photograph of the Kinghams building being demolished.)

The Council also required that we provide some car parking spaces for customers, particularly those who are disabled.  A reduced number of car parking spaces were provided by us on the site of the existing Partners car park adjacent to the Cottages.
