There were various stockrooms and offices on the ground floor level of Kinghams.
The Chronicle office was where the in-house magazine was prepared and printed.
House stationery provided all the normal stationery requisites as well as till rolls and carrier bags; but not ball point pens. Partners were expected to provide their own.
Two of the stockrooms are named; RAMBO, soft furnishings and JANE, dress fabrics. The lettering can been seen in the photographs. Why not Tarzan and Jane? Perhaps the Rambo film was popular at the time.
