Conception and Construction

The final weeks before opening and the signage was being put in place

A testament to success

In the Gazette of the 15th April 2011, it was announced that a new At Home store was to be opened at Tamworth. It was to be situated just off the A5, sitting perfectly between Birmingham, Sutton Coalfield and Lichfield. The shop was to be located on the Ventura Retail Park and would consist of a single storey, offering 42,000 square foot of space. The opening of the shop was testament to the ongoing success of the At Home format, and was an attempt by for the Partnership to offer better coverage in the West Midlands, as well as to compliment and support John Lewis Solihull, Tamworth’s closest full line department store. The opening of the £7 million store was set for autumn. As the deadline drew closer, a copious amount of work was put in, in order to get both the new store and the retail park finished on time. New recruits were trained, stock was delivered, and every final detail checked and double-checked. John Lewis Tamworth At Home was now ready to open.
