Conception and Construction

An artist's impression of the proposed Swindon At Home store

Filling the gap

Sat between John Lewis Cribbs Causeway and John Lewis Reading on the M4 corridor, Swindon was a town that the Partnership had long been looking to populate. With a large catchment area of shoppers all eager to for the John Lewis experience, to fill the gap between Bristol and Reading was an easy decision to make. After extensive research a suitable site had been ascertained by May 2010, and a John Lewis At home was confirmed for Swindon. Soon afterwards construction began, the aim being to open the store by the end of the year. It would be a tight squeeze, but a with a dedicated team approach, it was definitely achievable.
