John Lewis Solihull becomes the number one choice for locals

Trouncing local rivals

The success of ‘John Lewis Solihull’ Touchwood continued to grow in an unprecedented fashion. The Gazette of 5th January 2002 reported how the new branch had become a serious challenger to local rival and long established Beatties of Solihull. The fact that the Partnership was managing to convert customers from such a long-standing store such as Beatties gives a clear indication of changing customer attitudes, in direct correlation to the Partnership’s ever increasing profile in the area. Building on these early successes, and keen to further raise their profile in the area, in March 2002 John Lewis Solihull officially launched Clarins Studio in a special exhibition evening. They allowed customers to indulge in the studio free of charge for one night only. Guests were given an extensive tour of the four treatment rooms that the Studio had to offer, and were also invited to watch a number of demonstrations.
