John Lewis opens within Singapore shops

The Gazette (The Partnership’s in-house magazine) published the following on 13th August 2015:

John Lewis has started selling its products in three Robinsons department stores in Singapore.

The shop-in-shops launched in Robinsons Heeren, Raffles City and Jem stores, on Friday (24 July 2015), offering a range of more than 500 own-brand home products, including bed, bath, tableware and home accessories such as candles and photo frames.

Duvets and pillows made by Partners at Herbert Parkinson, John Lewis’s textile factory based in Lancashire, are also part of the offer in the three shops.

Katie Jordan, Head of International Development, says: ‘We’re excited to bring the John Lewis brand to Singapore and look forward to welcoming customers and introducing them to the wide range of products on offer, from home essentials to gifts for friends and family.’

The division also has expanded its international presence to South Korea and plans to open 11 shop-in-shops in the Philippines.

Waitrose exports its products globally, too, selling own-brand goods in Africa and the Middle East.
