Memories of High Wycombe: Before Opening, 1988.
Before opening we all had to wear hard hats. My first job was to build a temporary staircase to allow female Partners to get into the building ‘with dignity’ as they were wearing skirts.
I acted as a security guard to protect the stock; although the store was stocked up there was no front on the building!
