The Grand Opening of JL Ashford

The dream materialised

Constructed in just 20 weeks, John Lewis Ashford eventually opened its doors to customers on the 7th November 2013. With an assortment of over 17,000 individual own-brand and branded designs spread over two floors, Ashford was a physical embodiment of the At Home dream, and an instant hit with customers. Within two hours of opening the shop, an order for £8000 worth of bespoke blinds had been placed!

The shop saw queues develop from 8am onwards to get inside the new store. Customers were eager to get their hands on several brand new lines not available in earlier additions of the At Home branches. John Lewis Ashford was therefore a pioneer in shaping the direction of future new branches. Since opening, Ashford has more than held its own, and with the help of Waitrose Ashford, continues to immaculately represent the Partnership in Kent.
