Trewins: The Cottages
JLP Archive Collection
When Trewins was still in Queens Road the display and kitchen planning departments shared one of two buildings known as The Cottages. The other house (although owned by Trewins) was still tenanted by an elderly gentleman.
Display was based on the ground floor while the kitchen planning offices were upstairs. The basement was empty.
It’s interesting to look at the photos and see that the basic interior of the house remained with original windows and mouldings. Even the pink basin in the cloakroom was retained.
To gain admittance you just had to press the door bell the correct number of times!
