John Lewis High Wycombe: Since Opening

The completion of Project Vogue made High Wycombe look like a different department store all together

Changes to shopping habits

After nearly five years of planning, it was confirmed in 2012 that High Wycombe would undergo a multi-million pound refurbishment that would increase the size of the selling-floor by a third. The profile of the store had been continuously on the rise since opening, and the growth of High Wycombe itself meant that the store was no longer situated completely out of town As a result, the very nature of shopping in the area had changed, and it was only right to respect this change by updating what John Lewis High Wycombe had to offer.

Changes to High Wycombe

The refurbishment would introduce fashion, footwear and beauty departments into the shop, a move that would develop the shop into a full-line department store. This extensive reinvigoration, using a number of new concepts, would counter increasing customer demand for more. Funding for the project was confirmed in November, and the refurb started soon afterwards. The £16 million Project Vogue was completed in October 2013. The results were such that it almost looked like a brand new shop.
