Partnership Day 2017

This year we spent the lead up to partnership day reconnecting with our history and inspiring co ownership. 

We ran mini inspiring ownership sessions for all partners to really embed ourselves in our history and discuss what it really means to be a partner. These sessions were ran in the lead up to partnership day and were great for partners to learn all about how our business was formed and create thoughtful discussions about co ownership. 

This led nicely in to a day of celebration of not only our business history but our history in John Lewis Newbury. We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year and really wanted to give a gift back to our partners long,standing and new. 

We arranged lots of fun events for all to get involved with, these included a section selfie competition, a store bake off, a ‘get to know your team’ quiz and of course the evening social event. 

We enjoyed the British summer sunshine and arranged an outdoor gathering with drinks, snacks and a brilliant game of rounders. The competition was high, but I feel a few allowances were made for beginners (thankfully!). 

During the day partners flocked to the giant (principle) 1 in the pdr where we created our own word cloud full with thoughts of all our partners and what it means to them to be part of John Lewis Newbury. Long standing award were given out when partners least expected and were filmed on Facebook live for everyone to see. We all enjoyed a great lunch of pie and chips with strawberries and cream in the PDR where we could really spend time with other and re live memories of our time in Newbury.

 

All in all a great day had and another successful Partnership Day, how will we top this next year?
