Sue remembers the ‘hard hatters’ working after the store opening, even when the store was open to the public.

She was given two weeks’ extra annual leave to cover official engagements, as the “1999 Mayoress”.

Sue remembers how, in 1998, the Chairman announced to High Wycombe staff that, if there wasn’t a customer in the first week, not to panic!

For her wedding day in 2005, three colleagues came to the rescue and the happy day was saved.
