Grand Opening

Opening it’s door’s, on Thursday 12th November 2015, the John Lewis at home and Waitrose Basingstoke has become the third ‘co-located’ store within the Partnership.

JL Basingstoke is the largest of the ‘at home’ stores, standing on 46,000sq ft. Twinned with a 26,000 sq ft Waitrose, it has been described as a ‘Partnership Powerhouse’.

The building is part of the Basingstoke and Deane Council’s £200m regeneration of the Basing View area.

Customer parking is provided by the new format group’s first ever roof-top car park, with travellators bringing drivers down to the shop’s two selling floors.

Waitrose Basingstoke includes a large cafe, a bakery, a vibrant juice bar and the fifth Partnership wine bar.

JL Basingstoke has become the first at home store to offer customers a designated nursery advice section for parents, complete with a full nursery assortment. It’s ‘home hub’ offers customers to explore our inspirational roomsets,floor coverings, soft furnishings and home design advice, altogether within one area.

The opening ribbon was cut by JL’s Olivia Jermy and WR’s Gina Benson, who were the first external recruits to be employed by the Branch. Branch Managers Ali Gilbert (JL at home) and Jamie Rodgers (Waitrose) joined them and charity representatives, to open the branch at 9am.
