A proposed model of John Lewis Aberdeen

A model of John Lewis Aberdeen

The cover of the Gazette featured a photograph of the model for the proposed building of John Lewis Aberdeen. The Partnership obtained planning approval for the design only the week before.

The store would have two distinctive towers, as well as a substantially sized roof car-park. The bridge visible to the left of the model would provide both car and pedestrian access to the Bon Accord Shopping centre. The model clearly shows the new department store was intended to blend in and compliment the surroundings, its use of granite very much in keeping with the rest of Aberdeen’s architecture.
